Banner Flower Farm started selling cut flowers from their flower wagon in front of their home 18 years ago.
The flower cart was a special gift that Jim made for his wife, Patricia.
The wheels were from an old vegetable cart which Jim found out in the pasture.
Yes. So many treasure found out in the flower field over the years. Shall share those stories for a future blog post.
Although, the Banner Flower Farm now resides in Allegan, Michigan, their roots began in Mendon, Michigan.
This farm belonged to Jim’s grandfather, a German immigrant, Mathias Banner.
Here is a picture of the old farm house, which is the typical style of farm houses here in Michigan.
Patrica’s family (Charlotte Frisbie) roots go back to the Jamestown era. The family eventually settled and farmed in Connecticut and years later into Michigan.
Thus, this is why the Banner Flower farm is all about having a strong conviction of dedicating their work on the flower farm to their Family, their Ancestors.
It is because of them that the Banners are here today. For without their raw determination, strength, wisdom, persistence, and love of spirit, heart, and mind, the Banner Family could not have accomplished being Flower Farmers.
Of equal importance, it is because of our loyal customers and growing new clientele who order dahlia tubers and fresh cut flowers from the Banner Flower Farm consistently through our on-line dahlia tuber shop open for the last ten years and at our flower stands (and direct from our farm) for the last 18 years.
Yes – celebrating ten years of selling dahlia tubers on-line!
Be sure to keep an eye out for some special giveaways in the upcoming weeks in honor of this anniversary celebration.
As you can see one of the already featured bonus’s is the offer of FREE SHIPPING on all dahlia tubers ordered for the 2016 season!

You can rest assured the Banner Flower Farm continues to maintain their high standards, whether you are purchasing dahlia tubers or fresh cut flowers, as Jim and Patricia Banner have shared their wealth of knowledge of trial and error over the years with their children and grandchildren.
